THE “PIOUS UNIMMERSED” — 2 Comments

  1. ” But in this lifetime, once such a person does become aware of the true meaning of baptism, he becomes fully accountable for believing it, following it, and teaching it. In this case on the Judgment Day the principle of “conscientious response to available light” will no longer excuse a failure to obey the gospel command of baptism.” If this is true, why should I share what I know about what the Bible teaches about baptism? Wouldn’t they be better off not knowing?

    • You obviously missed the point that only the omniscient God can apply this principle to any individual. We finite servants of God cannot know the hearts of the pious unimmersed, so we cannot judge anyone’s ignorance or non-compliance as “conscientious,” nor do we know how much light is “available” to them. Thus we must bear witness to the truth to everyone.
