THE LIMITS OF PATRIOTISM — 8 Comments

  1. Thanks a lot Dr. Jack Cottrell for the enlightening message! This clear presentation of God’s righteous perspective on patriotism will end the long discourses of other religious sectors who insist it is unChristian even just to exercise our right of suffrage and post comments on political issues…. God bless everyone! Can you also give us DR. JACK COTTRELL BIBLICAL EXPLANATIONS on the topics trinity, Marianism or belief that Mary intercedes prayers to God the Father as what Roman Catholics believers do and the Roman Catholics belief the Pope is the vicar of Christ.

  2. Very good thoughts on the problem . Our responsability to our nation is to be informed , vote ,& lead if we can . I recomend to get involved with local governments ( run for office ) at the city ,county , state levels . Our paticpation is needed for balance . Not all can do it , but thoses who can should . The inherent Christian principles of integrity are so needed today & what is currently missing in our problems . Thank you Jack for the article .

  3. Thanks once again Jack for the concise explanation of a Biblical view of patriotism. I’m teach a 6 week series on “The Purpose of Government” and this would make an excellent hand out. May I have your permission to use it as such? Thanks again and God bless you both.

  4. Dr. Cottrell,

Thanks for a simple and straightforward answer to a question that must be at the forefront of a lot of American minds today. As a Christian, an American, and a member of the Armed Forces I ponder this question a lot. While I love my country and it’s ideals, and will gladly fight and die for them, supporting our current government (all levels, not just the executive), has become very hard.
